Teaching students whose potential often goes unrecognized is a motivating factor in my tutoring practice, which incorporates students' personal interests and meaningful analogical devices. English/Writing: I am a professional writing consultant at a local university. This occupation has afforded me the opportunity to work with students of diverse locations, interests, age groups, nationalities, etc. Additionally, I am a published author, who single-handedly wrote, edited, designed and published her debut novel; helping people discover their inner-writer is not only a skill at which I am adept, it is also something I find great joy in doing. I funded my undergraduate tuition via a health science/technology scholarship, and a higher education merit scholarship. ESL: I also garnered the highest foreign language GPA schoolwide. Helping others who may struggle with learning English, both in the US, and abroad is of great interest to me. In addition to writing and ESL, I've worked with students in French and Music. I've played clarinet for 18 years, and am currently studying to enter master's level music composition. Braille: I offer the Braille skills honed during my time as a Visually Impaired assistant. I participated in classes and workshops on Braille literacy (uncontracted) and Braille technology. My tutoring purpose is to meet the student at his/her level, bridging the gap between where they are and where they would like to be. Sessions are conducted online (payment collected through paypal), a meeting place, or the student's home (within 30 minutes of downtown Winston-Salem). DON'T HESITATE, the educational future awaits.
